Pete Douglas

Pete is a crazy. His idea of fun is climbing to the top of a mountain and launching himself off on the wind on a paraglider - a kind of parachute thing - more like a wing - that you dangle under. Goes everywhere doing it, Mayrhofen, Laragne & Chamonix in the Alps, Piedrahita & Ager in Spain, The Blorange, Merthyr and Hay Bluff in South Wales. His glider is an Boomerang Sport which gets him flying at 58 kph. In the summer, in Spain he gets into massive thermals rising in the centre area at 8 metres a second which took him up from hill top height to cloud base at 13,000ft in a couple of minutes. His best cross country flights are 75 and 80Km.

Pete's a winter crazy too. He redicovered skiing nine years ago and has a distinct sort of laid-back Lee Marvin drunken skiing style which greatly amuses precise Alpine Skiers. He is a bit of a reckless one, learning on red and black runs before considering unlearning all his bad habits via a skiing lesson. He's starting to get the hang of some of the bigger moghul runs. In Chamonix he can even ski in the morning and paraglide off the Aiguille de Midi in the afternoon. When in the seat at Tantra he divides his time (after admin duties) between working with Macs and designing web sites and graphics.
